Waikato Wedding Expo
The 2015 Waikato Wedding Expo happens this Sunday (28 June) at Hamilton Gardens Pavilion. This is a great opportunity to see everything 'wedding' in one place. I'll be there so feel free to come and visit me on stand 48.
Full details here.
Chicks at the Flicks - July
Every month I host Chicks at the Flicks at Event Cinemas, Chartwell. It's a great opportunity to get some friends together and enjoy a fun night out. We start the evening with a drink (or two) and I get to give away some great prizes. You then get to enjoy an advanced screening of a latest movie. And when you leave you get to take a goodie bag home full of treats and special deals.
The next Chicks at the Flicks is Magic Mike XXL which takes place three years on from the first Magic Mike movie.
Wednesday 8 July
Event Cinemas, Chartwell
Drinks from 6pm, movie starts 6.30pm
Chicks at the Flicks usually sells out before the night so if you're thinking of joining me I would recommend you get your tickets as soon as you can :)
Winter wedding
The weather held off this weekend for the wedding of Lee-Ann and Brendan at Vilagrad on Saturday. Such a lovely couple. Vilagrad is one of my favourite Waikato wedding venues. The Nooyen's are the perfect hosts - it's always great to catch up with Nelda.
Her right-hand man for weddings is Renz. He walks couples through their music rehearsal and makes sure everything is just right!
MC Duties
Last Friday I had my MC hat on - at the 2015 Chartered Accountants Australia/New Zealand Waikato Awards at the Atrium. I see accountants in a new light now - it takes 7 years to become fully qualified and then you still have to remain current!
It was a great night - I've hosted a few events at Wintec's Atrium which is a magical venue. Montana Catering were on form as usual and Steve Barker took all the great photos. A big shout out to the Three Brothers band from Vilagrad Winery - they know how to party!
Why choose a CANZ-registered celebrant?
As a member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand (CANZ) I offer a commitment to quality service, professional standards and ethics.
I pride myself on offering creative and innovative ceremonies for all occasions, including weddings, funerals, name giving, civil unions, business and community events, family occasions and rites of passage, and catering to a wide range of nationalities, cultural and spiritual beliefs.
CANZ celebrants are skilled professionals who endeavour to design a ceremony that expresses the meaning of your event and which reflects your personal style, values and beliefs. With special ceremonies you only get one chance to get it right, so it's essential to choose a celebrant who understands your wishes. CANZ celebrants have made a commitment to professional standards, education, and ethics, and we strive to deliver excellent service.
How early should you book your celebrant?
In order to get your celebrant of choice, it is recommended by The Wedding Guide website that you book your celebrant at the same time you book your venue and/or caterer. January through April are popular months and fill up fast - some couples book up to 18 months in advance.
Nearing the end...
The end of the 2014/2015 wedding season is in sight! Just one more wedding before I pack away my posh frocks (but then it all starts again in August!) I have weddings booked over 12 months in advance so once you know who you want for your celebrant my advice is to book him/her!
This weekend I married Bobbie-Anne and Luke at Windy Ridge in Ohaupo. Windy Ridge is a beautiful venue tucked away off the main street. Carly does an awesome job of looking after guests on the day. There is also a bit of shade if it's a hot summer's day!
Check out their website.
Back on air
You can catch me back on air this week on 92.2 MORE FM in the Waikato. I'm filling in for Kendall while she's away on holiday (somewhere sunny I hope!).
10am-3pm from Thursday 30 April until Friday 8 May.
